Hey Craft Bestie💞
Back-to-school parties are a great way to get kids excited for the upcoming school year. Whether you're a parent or a teacher, planning a back-to-school party can be a fun and creative way to celebrate the start of a new school year. In this post, I'll show you how to create a fun and stylish back-to-school party using a variety of decorations and snacks.
First, let's start with the table. When it comes to decorating your table, I recommend layering your table decor ALWAYS. For my base layer, I used a blue scallop paper table runner layered with a chalkboard table runner. The chalkboard runner also came with chalk to customize the runner, this gave the table a fun and playful look while also allowing guests to write messages on the table. For the placemats, I used dry-erase practice boards that I found at the Dollar Tree, and these were the perfect addition to the school theme.

To add a little personalization, I used name plates for the party guest names (lol I even wrote their names in cursive). Helping to create a sense of belonging and making each guest feel special. To add some contrast, I chose a patterned stripe paper plate for my base plate. They are colorful and stylish, making them perfect for a back-to-school party.
To add a bit of DIY charm, I created an apple plate. I purchased red plates and cut an oval out of green cardstock and a stem out of brown cardstock. I attached the leaf to the stem and then glued the stem and leaf to the back of the plate rim. This was a fun and easy way to add a bit of creativity to the party. For additional table decorations, I used leftover school supplies, mini notepads, pencils, and mini composition notebooks (you could also use them as place cards by writing each guest's name on the cover), I even found a notebook paper pencil holder at Hobby Lobby, and I scattered eraser tops around the table.

Now, let's move on to the snacks. I had so much fun creating a charcuterie snack board with popcorn, Cheez-Its, school-themed cookies, chocolate-covered pretzels, and some fruits & veggies. This provides a variety of snacks that are both delicious and fun. Popcorn and Cheez-Its are classic snack items that kids love. The school-themed cookies are from my local Wegmans and were a fun way to tie in the school theme, and the chocolate-covered pretzels add a sweet and salty treat. The strawberries and carrots provide a healthy option, while the viral DIY pencil-shaped wafer cookies add a playful touch to the snack board.
In conclusion, planning a back-to-school party can be a fun and creative way to celebrate the start of a new school year. By using a variety of decorations and snacks, you will create a memorable and exciting party that kids will love. I hope these ideas inspire you to create your back-to-school party and make the start of the school year a fun and exciting time for everyone involved.
Until next time Bestie✌🏾
